Jon Ronson was reccommended to me by my Manager, Anita. Since finishing 'Lost at Sea', I have read many of his articles and almost all of his books. Had I discovered him at a younger age, I would absolutely have been a member of his fan club and most definitely, a groupie. When I saw he followed me on Twitter, I lapsed into a fit of giggles bringing me flashbacks of adolescent crushes!!
So, apart from the fact that I'm a fan...is his new book any good?! No, it's better than good, it's brilliant. It's eye opening, terrifying and laugh out loud all in one go! We are all at the stage where we know we have to be more internet aware and protective of our online presence. The accounts of the people who have experienced the internet at its utmost worst left me with a chilling and almost creepy feeling everytime I log on. The people that Jon has documented are very real, their experiences completely empathetic in their devastation.
Who do you reccommend a book such as this to? Anyone, everyone! If you're online, read this book. If you believe you only browse certain sites, read this book. If you don't know the on button from the mouse, read this book.
And, let me know if you think Jon Ronson looked half decent as a woman and should definitely article his experiences for a day, week, month...
